The story behind Wonderfully Wired

After taking Ariella to her first theatre production of The Lion King, I found myself reflecting less on the show and more on the anxiety I had carried throughout the night. Not because I was ashamed of her, but because I was afraid of the judgement of others when she expressed her excitement, became vocal, or struggled to sit still.

That realisation stayed with me.

I never want my daughter to feel like she has to hide who she is to be accepted. Every child deserves to experience the world as themselves, without constantly being expected to mask, shrink themselves, or fit neatly into spaces that weren't designed with them in mind.

When we got home, we talked about how wonderful it would be for Ariella to have clothing that celebrated her uniquely different way of experiencing the world. Something that could help those around her understand and offer a little more grace during the tougher moments, while allowing her to proudly be exactly who she is.

What began as a simple idea to create shirts for Ariella and our family soon became Wonderfully Wired Co.

Our designs celebrate neurodivergence, but they also reflect something at the heart of our family: our love for our Heavenly Father and our belief that Ariella was created with purpose, exactly as she is.

Neurodivergent. Just as God intended.

Wonderfully Wired isn't only for the wonderfully wired kids in our lives. It's for parents, siblings, families, advocates and supporters who want to celebrate the beautiful differences within the neurodivergent community.

At the heart of Wonderfully Wired is a message of love, acceptance and understanding - for every wonderfully wired person and the beautifully different ways they experience the world.
